This afternoon, we were gathered by Ms. Serely Alcaraz into smaller groups for a group discussion dubbed as THE WORLD CAFE with the topic: 

SUSTAINING THE AJAFA-21 NETWORK TOWARDS GLOBAL COOPERATION

Then, we presented our findings in a forum.


The discussions came out fine.

Added feature to this event is the holding of the GRAND REUNION of all Filipino past participants of the ASEAN-Japan Friendship Programme from 1984 to the present.
Delegates from other countries will have the chance to meet their batch mates from the Philippines.

ASEAN JAPAN FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION 2007: PART 1: 13TH AJAFA-21YOUTH FORUM PHILIPPINES

ASEAN-JAPAN FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION FOR THE 21ST CENTURY (AJAFA-21) is an offshoot of the ASEAN-Japan Friendship Program for the 21st Century since this is composed of alumni of the Friendship Program.

This is about the 13TH REGIONAL YOUTH FORUM 2007  PHILIPPINES dated November 2 to 6, 2007 in Manila, Bulacan and Makati PHILIPPINES with the Theme: 
“SUSTAINING THE AJAFA-21 NETWORK TOWARDS 
GLOBAL COOPERATION 

This event is organized by PAJAFA-21 with the support from various organizations such as: 
*Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) 
*Government Service Insurance System
*Office of President, Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO
*local government units of Manila, Mandaluyong, Bulacan
*Department of Foreign Affairs
*related Philippine Government Departments
*corporate organization
*private individuals 
*as well as coordination through the AJAFA-21 Secretariat.

The ASEAN-JAPAN FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION FOR THE 21ST CENTURY (AJAFA-21) is headed by an Executive Council, represented by the different Alumni Associations of the Youth Invitation Programme among ASEAN countries and Japan.
The Executive Committee agreed that there should be a platform for its alumni members to meet and interact for the sharing of knowledge and experience as well as to enhance and broaden friendship relations among its members. 

MAIN SEMINAR:
SUSTAINING THE AJAFA-21 NETWORK TOWARDS GLOBAL COOPERATION: THE ROLE OF THE PAST PARTICIPANTS OF THE FRIENDSHIP PROGRAM IN MAINTAINING THE MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING, FRIENDLY RELATIONS AND EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION AMONG THE ASEAN COUNTRIES AND JAPAN.

.For this Youth Forum, I really didn't know what to expect and who we will meet. 
To my surprise, two of our AJAFA batchmates in the early 1990s -- Rahman and Mohan from Malaysia were also delegates and I think that was one of the best surprises for this forum.
