CMZ Workforce Promotes #cmzbracampaignproject

For October 2014,  the Ciudad Medical Zamboanga workforce took time to have their "SELFIE / GROUPIE" with the Ciudad De Zamboanga B.R.E.A.S.T. (Bra to Raise Early Awareness for Screening and Treatment) Installation Art located at the Paseo Del Mar in Zamboanga City!

This is for the CMZ Workforce supports #cmzbracampaignproject Initiative.

Each unit, then, attaches Advocacy messages for Breast Wellness and Breast Cancer Awareness to their photo.

To further spread about the Advocacy and to increase Online Presence, the different CMZ units share their photos in the CMZ BRA Campaign Project Facebook Page and cmzbracampaignproject in Instagram to gather the most Likes and Shares!

Ciudad Medical Zamboanga would like to share these updates about Breast Cancer Awareness!!!

Breast Cancer is the most common form of cancer diagnosed in women.
**** About 1 in 13 women in the Philippines will have breast cancer in her lifetime.
However, Breast cancer does occur in men.
Although, it is uncommon, 1% of all breast cancers occur in men.

BREAST CANCER IS A CURABLE DISEASE WHEN DETECTED, TREATED, AND MANAGED EARLY.
PROBLEM: Low survival rate of 40 % IN BREAST CANCER patients (due to late detection) compared to 80-90% in developing countries!!!
Thus, Breast Cancer is the most common cause of cancer deaths in women.

✓✓✓✓✓✓✓✓ HAVE YOU BEEN CHECKED? ✓✓✓✓✓✓✓✓
Have you thought of the answer to this question yourself?
Follow recommended breast cancer screening guidelines
*** breast self exam (BSE) monthly starting at AGE 20
*** clinical breast exam (CBE) every three years starting at AGE 30
*** mammography starting at AGE 40 plus yearly CBE and monthly BSE.
Please ask your doctor about it!

We have to take care of ourselves!!!
Possible signs of breast cancer can include:
* Breast lump or mass: painless, firm to hard with irregular borders
* Lump or mass in the armpit
* Change in size or shape of the breast
* Abnormal nipple discharge :bloody, clear to yellow or green , like pus
* Nipple turned inward, if it isn’t usually
* Crusting, bleeding or a rash on your nipple
* Dimpling or thickening of skin in one area of your breast.
Act promptly if any breast changes are found

Aside from the Breast Screening Methods such as Breast Self Exam and Mammography, we have to take good care of ourselves.
More than two-thirds of all fatal cancer cases can be prevented with SIMPLE LIFESTYLE CHANGE
* Eating lots of fruit, veggies, and whole grains ,soya
* Exercising regularly
* Maintaining a healthy body weight
* Using protection against the sun
* And especially, not drinking alcoholic beverages nor smoking
Love your breasts, Have them checked!

CMZ Flash Mob Practice 2 for Breast Wellness Fair 2014

October 28, 2014: Ciudad Medical Zamboanga is preparing for the hospital-wide FLASH MOB for the Breast Wellness Fair 2014, participated in by all levels of the hospital including the Execom, doctors, nurses, technologists, pharmacists, admin and finance staff, maintenance and dietary as well as some kids who wanted to join in. Thanks to Kenneth Ivan Saclolo and Sherniaa Absari, CMZ nurses, who took the lead to conceptualize and teach this.

This was taken during the last practice at the site itself, Paseo Del Mar and indeed it was still a fun practice for blocking, inspite of the searing heat! (we are still so thankful to the Carmelite nuns who help us pray for good weather today!)

Isn’t the view of Paseo Del Mar so beautiful, overlooking the Zamboanga City Port and the Sta. Cruz Islands! And with the view of the Fort Pilar, too! And don't forget the Ciudad De Zamboanga B.R.E.A.S.T. (Bra to Raise Early Awareness for Screening and Treatment) Installation Art displayed at the Paseo!

CMZ is so proud of our own workforce who are so talented, united, dynamic and "simply fabulous!"

Needless to say, we have to thank those on duty who had to man the hospital for our primary mission of providing Integrated Value Based healthcare services.

P.S.
CMZ is a 160-bed tertiary private hospital in Zamboanga City, with more than 500-strong workforce. CMZ is the first hospital ever to garner the Philippine Quality Award given and was conferred by President Benigno Aquino III last March 21, 2014 at Malacanang Palace for the 16th Cycle PQA Awards.

Please watch this viseo in You tube and Click LIKE (if you do!)

For the Breast Wellness Fair 2014, Ciudad Medical Zamboanga decided  to have a hospital-wide FLASH MOB participated in by about hundred staff from all levels of the hospital including the Execom, doctors, nurses, technologists, pharmacists, admin and Finance staff, maintenance and dietary as well as some kids who wanted to join in.

The CMZ Flash Mob symbolizes all of us dancing to support Breast Wellness and Breast Cancer Awareness during October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and also signifies one of the ways to lower Breast cancer risk which isthrough exercise and increase in physical activity!

Kenneth Ivan Saclolo and Sherniaa Absari, our own CMZ nurses took the lead to conceptualize and teach the dance steps.

This was taken during the first Flashmob practice and interestingly, in less than an hour, everyone seems to be attuned and have learned the steps.

CMZ is so proud of our own workforce who are so talented, united, dynamic and "simply fabulous!"

“Behind the scenes” footages are always fun towatch...and so let us enjoy viewing this...

GO and FIND YOURSELF IN THE VIDEO!

And always remember our mantra for the CMZ BREAST WELLNESS FAIR!
