Another BREAK from my Zamboanga Crisis posts!
I am not so sure if the ZamboangueƱos can even think about holidays at this time of the Zamboanga Crisis.
For school kids these days, they are so delayed with their classes for almost a month now! So, more likely, they would have to adjust the school calendar, maybe, extending to the summer vacation!
But, I would still like to share the holidays for 2014 for those who are interested and here are the links: ** http://pcoo.gov.ph/today.htm#holidays
President Benigno S. Aquino III issued Proclamation No. 655 declaring regular holidays, special non-working holidays and special holidays (for schools) for the year 2014 last September 25, 2013.
The following holidays and special days shall be observed in the country.
The proclamations declaring national holidays for the observance of Eid/l Fitr and Eidul Adha shall hereafter be issued after the approximate dates of the Islamic holidays shall have been determined in accordance with the Islamic calendar (Hijra) or the lunar calendar, or upon the islamic astronomical calculations, whichever is possible or convenient.
Here is a list of the three long weekends:
**January 19, Friday for Chinese New Year
**Observance of Lent: April 17 to 18 for Maundy Thursday and Good Friday
**December 24, Wednesday which is Christmas Eve is a special non-working holiday.
~~December 25, Thursday for Christmas is a regular holiday
~~followed by December 26 as a special non-working holiday, thus, a very long weekend!
Just for your reference, in case you might want to plan your vacation early!!!
